Fiebing's Resolene

Fiebing's Resolene is a water-resistant top finish that dries to a mellow gloss. An excellent sealer over leather dye and a practical finishing step for leathercraft projects, repairs, boots, belts, bags, purses, wallets, and straps. Use Resolene after dyeing, antiquing, polishing, painting, oiling, or general leathercraft work once the surface is ready for a top finish.

Directions

• Start with leather that is dry and free from loose dust or residue. 
• Start by mixing 10-15% water and adjust up to a maximum 30% from there depending on temperature and sprayer type. Note that the more water added, the less of a seal the Resolene will form.
• Apply a light, even coat with a damp sponge, working carefully across edges, seams, tooled details, stamped impressions, carved lines, and dyed surfaces. 
• Let each coat dry before adding more finish so the surface builds evenly instead of looking heavy or cloudy. 
• Keep the bottle closed between projects.
• For best results, test on scrap leather or a hidden area first, especially when working over new dyes, antiques, oils, paints, or older finished leather.
