Step 1: Use the side with the hole to press the washer into place.

Step 2: Leave 1/8" of the post when cutting. Pro Tip! Place your hand over the pliers to stop the piece from flying out.

Step 3: Use the indented side to round and lock the post to the washer.

Double Cap Rivets

Step 1: Punch the hole.

Step 2: Feed the post through the hole. (There should be at least 1/16"standing above the leather but no more than 1/8")

Step 3: Press the cap onto the rivet until it snaps into place.

Step 4: Use the setter and anvil to set the cap onto the post, for best results place the anvil onto the outer cap and set it from the back of the rivet.

Here’s a trick I discovered:
If you have 15 oz. thick leather that you want to install a snap fastener to but can’t because the leather is too thick for line 24 snaps, you can use a 1/8” X 3/8” blind rivet instead of trying to use a setter. Insert the post through the leather, place the cap over the post and insert the blind rivet into the post and squeeze the pop rivet gun. I tried it and it works.
